NaNoWriMo Progress

In case you haven't figured it out already, yes, I am doing NaNoWriMo.

But I am almost certainly NOT going to be a winner.

No, I'm not being negative. I am writing in verse, so my word count will end up being much less than 50,000. My aim for this month is to simply finish this draft of my first ever YA romance, tentatively titled THE SKELETON HOUSE.

I'm 5,355 words in, making steady progress. I have no doubt that I will finish this draft by November 30.

How about you? NaNo or no NaNo?

  1. NaNo! Kudos to you for writing in verse, that will be an impressive achievement regardless of word count :)

  3. I thought I was going to do NaNo but I think I will try to do it unofficially.

I did join but have yet to do anything. Oh well. I'm not much of a joiner. I just kind of dive into things when I'm feeling inspired.

    Good luck.

  4. A.J. -- I have written in verse before, but never a whole verse novel in one month! I'm not sure if I'll finish by the end of the month, but I have good momentum.

Angie -- Thanks! Same to you. :-)

Ron -- I almost didn't do NaNo this year because I didn't think I had an idea. It was a last minute decision to work on something that was not even developed beyond one small scene! But once I got rolling, the story began unfolding. It's been interesting!
