One of the recent self-publishing successes I admire is Terry Fallis's "The Best Laid Plans." Which he self-published and then won Canada's Stephen Leacock award. So, I guess there's an argument for each side of the coin. :-)JaneAhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17848478499648011847noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-25144488.post-24516676887554789322011-06-16T19:19:15.949-05:002011-06-16T19:19:15.949-05:00Agreed ... professional editing should be a requir...Agreed ... professional editing should be a requirement before self-publishing!Kelly H-Yhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07324529762031928328noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-25144488.post-25587773682381889892011-06-16T09:53:26.674-05:002011-06-16T09:53:26.674-05:00I agree with everything you said. Often this is due to my personal taste, but occasionally I pick up a picture book filled with slant rhymes and choppy meter or a novel with an unforgivable amount of typos/spelling errors.Rebecca Gomezhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/06842712720778708758noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-25144488.post-74493536248866094472011-06-16T08:35:53.600-05:002011-06-16T08:35:53.600-05:00Is there room for me on your soap box? Although, I must admit that even some books backed by fancy-dancy publishing companies have lacked luster. That might just be due to my personal taste. We must never underestimate the power of revision. I agree.@ngiehttp://www.angiewashington.comnoreply@blogger.com
