Tuesday Tip #17: Play Days

Some times the best thing you can do during the day is NOTHING. Nothing except goof off and play with your kids, that is.

This week is spring break, and we are taking full advantage of it. No, we haven't gone out of town to some vacation get-a-way or to visit family. We're not spending our days biking at the lake (though that would be fun). Yesterday the kids and I spent the whole day just playing. We started out with Mario Kart and then moved on to building a hotel out of Legos! We had so much fun and we laughed A LOT! Dinner, dishes, and any other sort of housekeeping had to wait until 4:00. It's been a while since I've just sat on the floor and played with my kids for such a long time.

Days like that are good for the soul!

Here's a picture of the hotel:

  2. You are my hero, Becky! I love the way that you have fun with your kids.

We will have to coordinate with Mario Kart; we finally have a working Wii. Yay!

Can I just say that it is so cool the hotel is a SIX star hotel. Also, I assume the the 1/2 of a person in the blue area is in a swimming pool. Clever!

  3. PJ--thanks! It was fun building it. We'll need to invest in more doors and windows if we ever want to build something bigger.

Angie--You noticed! The half-person swimming was the kids' doing, so they get the credit for that. You are a gifted observer. You can't see it in the picture, but the pool area is totally closed off and has a ladder to get out, a diving board and its own door. And don't you just love the little garden? Oh, and I can't wait to challenge you at Mario Kart!

Louis--Thanks for visiting my blog! And you are so right! Sometimes we do need to quit worrying about this and that. I have to remember that I can't be a good children's writer without getting down to their level. And it sure helps me be a better mom too!

    The garden is adorable!

As soon as I conquer the feat of hooking up the Wii to wireless then we will be set to go. Game on!
